Watmough Book Tender

Dr Richard Watmough, an entomologist and long-standing member of the Magaliesberg Section of the Mountain Club of South Africa, bequeathed his collection of rare and valuable books to the Magaliesberg Section. These books deal with a wide variety of topics mainly relating to the natural world; trees, animals, birds, insects, butterflies, etc. A list of the books is available below. Some of these books are very valuable, some are Africana and some have been out of print for a long time. 

If necessary, they can be viewed at the MCSA Magaliesberg Section Club house in Rietondale, Pretoria, by prior e-mail arrangement with the organiser at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. The Mountain Club also holds club evenings every second Tuesday at 19:30, at which times the books may be viewed. The programme is also available on the website listed above.

The books will be on tender for two months, starting from 7 Aug 2014 and ending on Friday 5 September 2014. Tenders should be for individual books or sets, and the prices listed are a guide only.

Persons whose tenders have been successful will be informed by email. 
Payment should be into the MAG MCSA bank account (details will be given at that stage).

This must be done within 2 weeks after receiving notice of a successful tender. The Club will not be able to mail the books; people should collect the books themselves or arrange for someone to collect the books on their behalf at the MAG clubhouse.
